The Drawing Process

Back in New York City we meet to finish the drawings.

Molly draws. And draws. And draws.

Kim does the scanning. Look how happy she looks? Scanning is SO fun! She is thinking, "Please take my picture while I scan! Oh please! I love when you take my picture while I scan. I love it SO MUCH!"

Molly draws. And draws. And draws.

Kim scans and color corrects and splices the images together in the computer. Looks like she could use some chocolate.

Somebody should tell Kim not to wear her hair in that stupid ponytail.

It's ALIVE!!!

Character Lineup

Jim points out that everything must be drawn on the same scale so that the lines match up after scanning and printing everything. We make a character lineup to gauge relative height.

When Molly gets lazy about drawing Kim feeds her chocolate - keeps the spirits bright.

Kim's other job is drawing a grid on the paper using a ruler and a pencil. This is incredibly boring to do. But somebody has to do it. And Molly feeds Kim chocolate.
